I started watching Boardwalk Empire last night and it just blew my mind. It's the kind of series that hook you up right from the start, the acting is great and it manages to immerse the viewer is the roaring 20's spirit.
Gangsters, prohibition, flapper girls, charleston and foxtrot are all in there. All & all a great show that I'm definitely gonna follow!

Billy Hicks
This post is my humble tribute to a great man, and a Sir of stand up comedy - Billy Hicks!
Now I admit that Billy Hicks ain't my favorite stand up comedian but damn the man sure knew what he was doing and managed to make you thing about every aspect of life.
This is one of the most memorable sketch's I have seen from the man.

Lazy sunday.
Sunday the typical stay on the couch watching tv and "youtubing" day. During one of those youtube sessions I came a cross the live performance of Tool featuring Tomas Haake (drummer of Meshuggah). I was stunned, despite the video not so great sound quality, the track they where preforming was nothing short of a drum-gasm!
Thats what you get when you have 2 of the best drummers of our time playing at the same time!

Poker bad beats :(
Friday night time for a friendly poker game at home with some friends, cheap stuff Small Blinds 0.5$ and Big Blinds 1$.
The night was going like usual lose some win some having a blast goofing around until this happened:
I got a pair of 8's and do a min raise, the SB calls it, flop is 8KK, he does the min raise and I call it. The turn is an A he bets 3.5 BB I raise it to 15 BB he re-raises to 25 BB and I go all in 55 BB total. Showdown I'm ahead with a full-house VS his K7 (trips just like I imagined). River comes ................... A! Fuuuuuuuuu!
Now did I misplay that hand or is that a real bad beat ?

George Carlin a stand up comedy mastermind!
Watching the news this morning during breakfast there was this piece about the recent Japan catastrophe. And some "expert" about environment was talking about climate change, the effects of the nuclear spill, how the Japanese should have done this and that to prevent or minimize the tsunami. As the guy was talking my mind started to drift away to some moments of my favorite George Carlin sketch "Saving the Planet" I'm not gonna spoil the moment for you folks I'll leave the video for guys and gals.

Vacations (Almost!)
After all there is rest for the wicked! My vacations are coming up and I still need to figure out if I want to go a sunny beach place like always or try out a snow "resort".
So in my mind there's this huge beach VS snow going on while accessing the pro's and con's of each destination.
And you what do you prefer beach or snow ?

Legos! LEGOS EVERYWHERE!
Like usual took my morning coffee while checking the news and my email and came across an email about Legos.
Nostalgia set in remembering of the hours I used to spend playing with Legos, from city stuff like Fireman trucks to Police cars to Trains, or medieval themed dioramas, spaceships pretty much everything you can imagine.
After seeing that email I got the urge to pass by a toy store and buy some Legos, silly I know and I probably wont go through with it since the buying impulse will probably be gone by the time I leave work.
Just gonna leave you folks with some of the Lego pics that triggered this random thought.
